Apple unveiled their redesigned line of Macbooks this morning with some pretty sweet Final Cut Pro still images of the World Cup Syndicate mountain bike race team. I wonder if this will influence mac geeks everywhere to pick up a bike and start shredding their local dirt parks. I’m just happy the sport is getting exposure, even if its from left-field.

Sram corporation has been doing an excellent job buying out the right companies in their quest of global bicycle component domination, sooner or later people just might be saying ’shimano who?’. One of their latest investments is already bearing fruit, welcome to the next potential bicycle movement, the Hammerschmidt. Kinda hard to put into words without getting too technical, watch the videos on the site, truly innovative stuff. Also great to see the marketing reflect the quality of the product, keep it up Sram.

Finally got around to purchasing a nice pair of running shoes that addressed my two problems when running, being my flat foot and hot spots. Did my research and found the Air Zoom Haywards, one of Steve Prefontaine’s original sketches, to have received rave reviews from the general running public on addressing my issues. Broke them in today and found myself running a comfortable 7:20 mile. First day, new shoes, who wouldn’t get that extra kick of confidence? time will tell I guess.

He just keeps answering my prayers, DWR has nothing on Bike Furniture. Never thought something as simple as furniture crafted out of recycled bicycle parts would entice me to get my own place, I just hope the little lady will approve of this once the time comes. Here’s to a greener, more bicycle friendly world.

God has answered my prayers. Anyone who knows me will tell you that one of my guilty pleasures are sneakers, especially Nikes. I’ve been a 6.0 fan since its inception and they’ve finally pulled out all the stops for team USAs Olympic BMX squad. I introduce to you Nike’s Dunk Gyrizo, it can be yours for an unreasonable $220. The SPD compatible shoe gets the best of both worlds, the platform of Lance’s road shoe + the styling of the 6.0 skateline. When the price drops, I’m pulling the trigger. BTW ‘Gyrizo’ is greek for wheel, stuff of genius. So hot.

The New York Times came out with a nifty interactive feature that correlates time, country, and medal count during the Olympic years dating from 1896 - 2004. Pretty interesting to see the foreigners become the consistent powerhouse throughout the years. Now if they could find a way to show drug test failures in relation to everything else, hmmmmm…

Check out Nick Veasey’s eccentric take on photography. Very interesting work and perspective, definitely outside the box. You can see more of his work here.
