Last Friday I took a trip down to Melrose for lunch. Expecting to have some extra time on my hand, I took my Yashica TLR with me in hopes of getting some shots off the infamous street. My first attempt of getting a hair stylist to pose inside his shop didn’t work out, the barber shop screamed to be taken a photo of, it was highly decorative with pop-culture posters from every generation and old vintage memorabilia. Unfortunately, the stylist was too camera shy and kindly declined, so off I was to find another subject. Then came a musician by the name of Kab Calloway, who had recently flew in from Chicago to attend the Music Institute. After talking with him for awhile, I liked his attitude and energy so I decided to support the cause by purchasing his CD. Before we parted ways I asked to take a shot of him, he kindly obliged and started striking poses the minute I took out my camera. This guy is a natural, I wish him the best of luck on breaking into the industry and hope to hear his music on the local stations.

Last Saturday I went out with the intention of getting a hamburger….but came back with this. Say hello to my new toy, the HPI Hellfire. This fine piece of machinery is simply amazing, its a 4WD RC car that can hit speeds up to 45mph, runs on nitro-gas, and stops on a dime. Best $600 I ever spent, Debs on the other hand wasn’t too happy with my decision to splurge. I’ll be invading all schools with huge vacant parking lots and fields, but once the motor is broken in, local trails and dirt tracks here I come! Check out this footage of the Hellfire in action.

I’m darn impressed with the latest Ironman poster, lens flares are so hot right now. The marketing team is doing a phenomenal job of giving the movie a vibe of grandeur and a false sense of importance. Nevertheless, I can’t hide my geekiness for all things Marvel and be rest assured that I will be the first in line opening night. Remember the Rocketeer? Looks familiar don’t it?

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard and I certainly don’t remember my science fair being this fun. Lets chalk one up for pop culture. Here’s the link.
Project ‘reFocus’ is a personal photo experiment that explores before and after scenarios of no particular subject matter. Its as simple as that, hope you enjoy.
