Last Friday I took a trip down to Melrose for lunch. Expecting to have some extra time on my hand, I took my Yashica TLR with me in hopes of getting some shots off the infamous street. My first attempt of getting a hair stylist to pose inside his shop didn’t work out, the barber shop screamed to be taken a photo of, it was highly decorative with pop-culture posters from every generation and old vintage memorabilia. Unfortunately, the stylist was too camera shy and kindly declined, so off I was to find another subject. Then came a musician by the name of Kab Calloway, who had recently flew in from Chicago to attend the Music Institute. After talking with him for awhile, I liked his attitude and energy so I decided to support the cause by purchasing his CD. Before we parted ways I asked to take a shot of him, he kindly obliged and started striking poses the minute I took out my camera. This guy is a natural, I wish him the best of luck on breaking into the industry and hope to hear his music on the local stations.
