Been meaning to scan this photo in for some time now. Debbie had this photo taken by a New York City tourist head hunter who charged her somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty buckaroos. I guess it doesn’t matter when you’re making the big bucks, right sweetie? With all joking aside, I really love this photo, what it lacks in sharpness and color, it makes up in mood and feel (literally).

Can you guess what I’ve been doing in my cube, eh, besides working…of course? Watching the Amgen Tour of California on the flippin sweet Adobe Tour Tracker, and if you’re not?!…YOU SHOULD BE! The Amgen Tour of California is in its third successful year as a full fledged UCI Tour, starting out in the city of Palo Alto and finishing in Pasadena (which I’ll be attending; I’ll be the one screaming and crying like a little girl). The progression and popularity gain of this Tour is amazing, its slowly becoming one of thee premiere cycling events already attracting the sport’s stars from all over the world, even more impressive, as geeky as it sounds, is the Adobe Tour Tracker that allows you to follow every aspect of the event right from your computer. Rider profiles, current time standings, live video feeds, current peloton speed, jersey holders, road grade, you name it, this site has got it. The plethora of information available on the site is probably overkill for your average viewer but in my opinion, not only does this site show the inner beauty of cycling that is within its strategy, it is also a precedent in the world wide web, as it represents the endless possibilities of a content driven flash site that is tastefully executed. A forewarning, you’re gonna need some good bandwidth to get this site running somewhat smoothly and the latest version of the Flash player installed on your browser, its time our cable/dsl lines caught up to the evolution of the web!

*afterthought: the Tour de France should implement the A.T.T, I’m a genius, someone should elect me head of the ASO.

After a number of failed attempts, mostly due to my lack of motivation and poor excuses, I finally completed my first milestone on the road bike, a 100 mile ride, or in cycling terms, a ‘century’. Let me recap my day for you: I started the morning feeling a bit under the weather and decided against a big breakfast, instead I opted for a small croissant in hopes of working up an appetite as I eased into my ride. After my less than stellar AM grub, I stretched for 20 minutes, knowing that I’d be in the saddle for roughly six straight hours, this pre-ritual routine was probably the most important as it would determine how I would feel from the start and end of the ride. The first 70 miles, I felt strong and fluid, considering how much riding (or lack therefore) I had done in the last month, I was surprised at my level and continued to press on at a good pace, I gradually gained enough confidence to hit all of the major hills within Hacienda Heights at a reasonable pace. At the time, I was so focused on my pace and designated route, I made an amateur move and rode through lunch, up to that point I was running on practically nothing with the exception of the croissant I ate at the start of the day and 3 GU sugar gel packets that I had consumed up to that point of the ride. Jump to mile 90, I almost called it quits, I was semi-delusional and couldn’t get my mind off of dinner that awaited me along with the liters of gatorade I promised myself from the local 7-Eleven. Eventually I hit the 100th mile, even if my last 10 miles was at a snail’s pace, what I gained from perseverance and mental maturity was monumental, and I can only thank god for the strength he gave me every mile of the way. And thats that, nothing too exciting really, whats next? I guess the only thing to do is to ride another century and take my experience from this presidents day holiday and shoot for a faster and stronger finish, so until then, thanks for reading!

For those of you who haven’t a clue to what this video represents, consider the basketball analogy of an all-star team gearing up for the Olympics, this video is exactly that but with something better, Trials riders! SICK!

My buddy Nhat from Uber shot a fun organic promotional video for Tyler Hilton and his upcoming movie, ‘Charlie Bartlett’. Nhat is also a professional photographer working out of LA, you can check out his dope works on his Uber profile. Great job man, keep it coming.
