Jimmy and I took turns shooting our mugs with Kiyoung’s new D3. We wanted to demonstrate the power of the D3 and how it could make the ugliest of subjects somewhat presentable.

This is my friend Kiyoung, he’s an aspiring photographer. For the longest time he’s been talking about getting the D3, the latest and greatest from Nikon’s arsenal of full body DSLR cameras. You want it, this cameras got it, and it can be yours for roughly $5000 (body only). Thats it? chump change right? Flash back to last Friday, Kiyoung had been on the waiting list for about a good month and still had about 600 people who had pre-ordered the D3 in front of him. So he tells me that he changes his mind about purchasing the camera and decides to invest in prime Nikon lenses. To make a long story short, he basically tricked me into thinking that he wasn’t getting the body and surprised me with the D3 on Sunday. Congrats buddy! you finally got your dream ‘girl’. All I can say is that this camera is amazing, it actually made me consider going back to digital…yea right! Long live film!

Friday night, the Kim residents got a nice surprise from the second oldest visiting from Santa Barbara. Afterwards the family had dinner at Noshi Sushi, in my opinion its the most authentic japanese restaurant in Los Angeles. If you get a chance to go, order as much of the ‘Hirame’ as they have in store, you can thank me later. Pictured above is my sister and nephew looking thuggish for my phone in front of the restaurant. While we waited to be seated, Sharry tried teaching Kyle the peace sign, as you can see, he hasn’t quite gotten it but I ain’t worried for the fast learner, I’d give him another day for it to come around.
