This is my nephew Kyle, he’s turning two in a couple of months. This kid never ceases to amaze me, his articulation and memory is light years ahead of most kids his age. I thought it would be funny to teach him the phrase ‘i like big mac’, and like everything else he caught on in no time, however, now he calls me ‘uncle big mac’. Great.

Designers are always looking for sources of inspiration, Darkeye is my source when it comes to color + the web. Its a fairly intuitive tool and that lets you choose a range of colors from one to six at a time. The content surfaced isn’t always the freshest but you get a good idea of how others are using the colors picked.

This is my favorite work/social attire, the Infinity MPG teeshirt, it was given to me as a gift by my long time friend, Jeff. I thank you for my reputation at work as the ‘guy with the green bicycle shirt’.

This is our pride and joy, Marvin, probably the greatest yorkie ever. In his spare time, Marvin enjoys punking his chewtoys, barking incessantly with Jack, becoming your shadow, using debs as a pillow, sitting/pawing his way to treats, counting sheep and ultimately getting his way with you, resistance is futile. Some call him cute, Debs and I, we call him the monster.

This is Debbie. She’s my keeper and has been my significant other for the last 7 years. She knows me better than my mom and is a fervent animal rights activist. I’ll never admit it but if you ask her how we met, she’d say that she was the first to initiate contact cause I didn’t have the stones for it.

For a long time, I’ve been curious about the camera. My first camera was given to me as a gift from my dad, it was a entry level 35mm rebel xt, far from fancy but it was dependable and user friendly. This gift was the catalyst that sparked my interest in photography, I was intrigued by the simplicity of it, in essence all you had to do was point, focus, and shoot. I loved the idea that I could capture a candid moment that could never be duplicated, as a kid I simply loved the thought of freezing time so to say. This portrait series follows the same ideologies which got me interested, the definition of a ‘portrait photo ‘ is to capture the likeness of a person or a small group of people, typically in a flattering manner…think K-Mart photo studio. On a different note, my idea is to capture an honest depiction of my subject, simply put, I’m not here to force the handsome or pretty-ness out of you. Aside from this, I also hope viewers can get a feeling for my subject’s personality, interests, and a little something else called daggy. Depending on your kodak courage, I’ll try to update this series on a regular basis…stay tuned.
